Vintage Sterling Silver Tobacco Canteen with Turquoise and Inlay
Vintage Sterling Silver Tobacco Canteen with Turquoise and Inlay
Artist: Attributed To Unknown Navajo Artist
Tribal Nation: Navajo
Size: 2 1/2", diameter, x 3/4" x 1/2", neck
Vintage sterling silver tobacco canteen with removeable cap. Turquoise stones (3) are set on the cap and the two faces of the canteen. Inlay around edge, in sections, divided by silver spacers. Inlay is predominantly ironwood, but there's also a turquoise chip inlay section and three sections of fossilized ivory. Twelve cuts radiate out from each of the canteen faces. No hallmark discernable, therefore, attributed to an unknown Navajo silversmith.
